EANE for European projects
EANE — the European Academy of Nano Education — is a free, multilingual micro-learning platform that converts project training materials into short, assessed modules with verifiable certificates. It exists so that the training a European project produces keeps working after the project ends.
This page is written for people evaluating a funding application or final report that references EANE. It should take about five minutes.
Why EANE exists
EANE was built by EurAV European Audio Visual CLG, an Irish non-profit, to solve two problems it faced in its own work. First, its training with minority communities needed a format that worked for learners with limited English and limited time — short, mobile-first modules in the learner's own language. Second, as an Erasmus+ participant, it needed a real answer to the questions every consortium faces: how do training outputs stay alive, visible and useful after the funding period ends?
EANE is that answer, made available to other European projects. It was not built as a product in search of a market; it was built from inside the problem it addresses.
Project training outputs rarely outlive their projects
European projects produce good training material — handbooks, curricula, slide decks, toolkits. Most of it is published as PDF downloads on a project website whose domain registration quietly lapses two years after the final report. Nobody is trained by an archived PDF.
EANE converts that material into nano-learning: modules of roughly five minutes, each ending in a short auto-graded test, stacked into certificate courses. Learning happens on a phone, in the learner's language, at no cost to the learner — and continues for as long as the content stays relevant, not for as long as the funding lasts.
Sustainability, dissemination, exploitation
Sustainability
Converted courses remain published, free and maintained on the platform after the project's funding period. There is no hosting bill for the consortium to keep paying and no website for a partner to keep patching. In an application, this is a concrete, inspectable sustainability mechanism rather than a paragraph of intention.
Dissemination
Every certificate a learner earns carries the project's branding and grant reference, can be added to a LinkedIn profile or Europass record, and links back to a public verification page. Each shared certificate is ongoing, learner-driven dissemination. Verified certificate URLs and completion counts can be cited directly in progress and final reports as evidence of reach.
Exploitation
Intellectual outputs become a live training pathway that any organisation or individual in Europe can take up, rather than a deliverable that satisfies a contract and stops. Stackable courses and indicative iEQF levelling align the results with European micro-credential and lifelong-learning priorities.

Every certificate a learner shares on LinkedIn or through Europass carries the project's branding and grant reference — dissemination that continues after the funding period.

Modules remain online, free to learners and maintained on the platform after the project ends — the standard weakness in final reports, answered structurally.
An external service cost
EANE conversion and hosting can be budgeted as a subcontracted service line, with transparent pricing agreed before the application is submitted.
Consortium branding, throughout
Project courses are not white-labelled into anonymity. Each carries, across the learner journey and on every certificate issued:
- Consortium and partner logos on the course and its modules
- Erasmus+ / EU programme logos and the standard co-funding disclaimer
- Project grant reference and a link to the project website
- The same branding on page one of every learner certificate
- Grant reference, project URL and source-material link on certificate page two
Certificates are independently checkable: every certificate carries a serial number and link that resolve on our public verification page, so a reported learning outcome can be confirmed in seconds without contacting anyone. Micro-credentials, seriously
Courses issue verifiable certificates aligned with Europass conventions. Modules and courses carry an indicative level under our published iEQF framework, which follows the “indicate an EQF level” pattern permitted for stackable micro-credentials under Council Recommendation 2022/C 243/02 on a European approach to micro-credentials, mapped to the EQF descriptors of Council Recommendation 2017/C 189/03. The rubric and attribution method are public. Stackable pathways lead from single modules to certificate courses to Nano-Diplomas.
Multilingual and inclusive by design
EANE was built for learners with limited English and limited time: five-minute modules, plain language, mobile-first delivery, and content available across the platform's supported European languages with more added as projects require them. Project content is translated as part of conversion, not as an optional extra.

Learner data is processed under our published privacy policy in line with GDPR. Platform governance is documented publicly, including our AI governance statement, quality policy and credential policy.
Longevity: certificates are issued with independent serial numbers and remain verifiable even if a course is later retired. Source materials remain the intellectual property of the consortium that produced them, under our published IP policy — a project's outputs are never locked in.
