What is a Nano-Diploma?
Nano-Diplomas are EANE's stackable meta-credential. Earn six course-certificates in a single category, then pass a randomised 30-question retention exam drawn from those courses to claim one. Available in every EANE category once it reaches six courses. Verified via QR to individual constituent certificates, so recruiters can drill down from Diploma to Courses to Modules.
The retention exam is what makes the diploma more than a stack: 30 questions, 30 minutes, 100% pass mark, drawn at random from every module of the six qualifying courses. It's the final proof that your understanding stacks across the whole category. Each Nano-Diploma carries an iEQF level auto-derived from the highest-level constituent course, and lists every underlying certificate by serial number on page three of the printable PDF. The credential is independently verifiable at every level.
How it works, in four steps
Complete courses
Pass any EANE course to earn a course certificate. Each course typically stacks around 10 nano-modules, each testing your understanding with a 100% pass mark, randomised question order, and a 60-minute cool-off between attempts so you retrieve from long-term rather than short-term memory.
Achieve certificates in six courses
Your dashboard shows live progress toward a Nano-Diploma in every category you're learning in: as soon as you earn certificates in six courses in a single category, the retention exam becomes available. Compulsory courses are flagged where curators have set them.
Pass the retention exam
Sit a randomised 30-question exam drawn from every module of your six qualifying courses. 30-minute time limit, 100% pass mark, no partial credit. Fail and there is a 24-hour cool-off before the next attempt so your long-term memory has time to consolidate. This is the final proof that your understanding stacks across the whole category.
Claim your Nano-Diploma
Once the exam is passed, click Claim on your dashboard. A three-page PDF is issued instantly: ceremonial front, EU alignment page, and a stacked-credentials ledger listing every constituent certificate.
Anchored in European frameworks
EU Council Recommendation 2022/C 243/02
Nano-Diplomas match the stackable-micro-credential architecture described in the EU Council Recommendation on a European approach to micro-credentials for lifelong learning and employability.
Read the RecommendationiEQF level, derived and displayed
Every Nano-Diploma carries an iEQF level, computed as the maximum of the six constituent courses. The level is shown on page 2 of the PDF and can be verified independently. While not a formal NQF accreditation, iEQF is EANE's indicative EQF level, provider-declared and aligned with EU Council Rec. 2022/C 243/02. See eane.eu/iEQF.
Verifiable at every level
Recruiters and admissions offices can scan the diploma QR, read the six constituent serial numbers, and verify each one independently. There is no opaque black box: the whole credential trail is public.
One-tap LinkedIn addition
Add your Nano-Diploma to your LinkedIn profile in one click, with issuer, iEQF level, and verification URL prefilled. The share button lives on your dashboard and in the claim moment.
Where you can earn one
