See, record, refer
Safeguarding protects children, adults at risk, and the staff and volunteers who work with them. The minimum any community worker must do:
1. KNOW your organisation's designated safeguarding lead by name and how to reach them. 2. RECORD any concern in writing on the same day — facts, dates, who was present. Use the organisation's form. 3. REFER upwards, never sit on a concern. You don't need proof; reasonable suspicion is enough.
DO NOT promise confidentiality to a child or vulnerable adult disclosing harm — you may have to share to keep them safe.
