Terms of service
Last updated: 2026-07-12
Draft for review. This document is a working template prepared for EurAV European Audio Visual CLG and should be reviewed by a qualified legal adviser before being relied upon.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
The platform at eane.eu (“EANE”, “the platform”, “we”) is operated by EurAV European Audio Visual CLG, a not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee registered in Ireland. These terms govern your use of the platform, including modules, courses, assessments, credentials and any related services. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. The service
EANE provides free bite-sized learning modules, courses, automatically graded assessments, and digital credentials (module credits, course certificates, General Certificates, Nano-Diplomas, and Certificates of Demonstrated Knowledge). We aim to keep the platform available and accurate but provide it “as is”, without warranty of uninterrupted availability, and we may modify, suspend or withdraw features at any time.
3. Your account
- You must provide accurate registration details, including the full name you wish to appear on certificates.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- One account per person. Accounts are personal and non-transferable.
- You may close your account at any time from your dashboard; see the Privacy policy for what happens to your data.
4. Assessments and academic honesty
Credentials only mean something if they are earned honestly. You agree not to: sit an assessment on another person's behalf or allow another person to sit one on yours; share, publish or harvest assessment questions; use automated tools to answer assessments; or otherwise circumvent assessment rules such as time limits, unlock delays and retake cooldowns. We may revoke credentials obtained in breach of this section (see the Issuer policy) and may suspend or terminate accounts involved.
5. What our credentials are, and are not
EANE credentials attest that the named learner passed the stated assessment on the stated date. They are not formal academic qualifications, regulated professional licences, or accreditations by any national qualification authority. Framework references (e.g. iEQF, CEFR alignment where stated) are indicative only. See the Issuer and Credential policies for full detail.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform, including by: attempting to gain unauthorised access to accounts, data or infrastructure; scraping content at scale; uploading unlawful, defamatory or infringing material in any field you can edit (e.g. your name, feedback comments, tutor submissions); or interfering with the service's operation. We may remove content and suspend accounts that breach this section.
7. Intellectual property
Platform content is protected by copyright and other rights. Your use of our content, and our use of anything you submit, is described in the Intellectual property policy.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: the platform and its credentials are provided free of charge and without warranty; EurAV is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made by third parties (e.g. employers) on the basis of an EANE credential. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Irish law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced on the platform. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland and subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts. Questions: hello@eane.eu.
