Your digital front door
An email address is your key to most online services. Pick a free provider (Proton Mail, Gmail, Outlook, GMX). Choose an address using your real name where possible — it looks more credible to employers and councils. Pick a password you can remember but no-one can guess (a short phrase works better than 'P@ssw0rd!'). Write your address down on paper and keep it safe. Tell one trusted person, in case you ever forget it.
