Strong passwords without a manager

How to make memorable passwords that resist guessing — without software.

Three words and a number

Forget complex symbols. The strongest memorable passwords are made of three random unrelated words plus a number — like 'OliveRadioCanal42'. They're long, easy to type, and would take a computer centuries to guess.

Use a DIFFERENT password for your email account than for everything else, because email controls your password resets. Write your passwords down on paper at home if you have to — paper is not online, and a thief in your living room is far less likely than a thief in a leaked database.
