Assume you're being watched
Public Wi-Fi is shared. Assume anyone on the same network could try to peek at what you do. The fix is built into nearly every site you care about: look for the small padlock (🔒) and 'https://' in the address bar. That means your connection is encrypted.
Avoid logging into banking on public Wi-Fi unless absolutely necessary. If you must, use the bank's official app rather than the website — banking apps add an extra layer of protection.
